ECBL: CBA Blue trips up So. Wayne Red

PIKEVILLE -- Trent Herndon struck out seven batters in six innings of work on the mound and Charles B. Aycock Blue trumped Southern Wayne Red, 5-2, in a rescheduled Eastern Carolina Baseball League game Wednesday evening.
Bandon Palmer, Herndon and Lloyd Lowe supplied the offense for CBA Blue. Each had one hit. Palmer drove in two runs and Herndon and Lowe drove in one apiece.
Cole Barwick had two doubles for Southern Wayne Red.
Josh Jernigan endured the loss on the mound for the Saints.
Southern Wayne (7-4 overall) looks to snap a three-game losing streak against Wilson Christian today. First pitch is 6 p.m.
CBA Blue (8-2) plays host to Rosewood. Game time is 6 p.m. at Charles Davis Field.
