Meredith Burroughs homered twice and Allie Phillips tossed a no-hitter as Charles B. Aycock cruised past Eastern Wayne, 16-0, in the Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference finale for both teams Tuesday afternoon.
Burroughs, the newly-minted North Carolina home run queen, ended the day with five RBI.
Phillips, a crafty left-hander, collected eight strikeouts and walked one inside the circle. Phillips helped her cause offensively with two hits, including a triple.
Michaela Thompson, Haley Rose and Allie Phillips each had triples for the Golden Falcons, who pumped out 17 hits. Allison Shingleton, Abbie Walton and Keely Fulghum each had two hits apiece.
The Golden Falcons (15-2 overall, 11-1 ECC) earned a share of their 12th ECC regular-season championship in program history.
