Conquerors eliminated from NCCSA 2A baseball playoffs

Wilmington Christian erupted for five second-inning runs and handed Faith Christian a season-ending, 10-8 defeat in opening-round action of the N.C. Christian Schools Association Class 2-A playoffs Friday afternoon.
The Warriors' two-out, second-inning rally involved three hits and four errors by the Conquerors.
Faith Christian battled back to tie the game at 8-all in the fifth inning, but Wilmington posted single runs in the sixth and seventh innings. The Conquerors had no answer, striking out twice in six plate appearances during their final two innings.
"I'm proud of my guys," said FCA head coach Justin Smith, whose team surrendered seven unearned runs on the day.
Landon Ginn doubled twice and concluded the day 3-for-4 at the plate for the Conquerors. Jack Casbarro batted 3-for-3 with a double and run scored. Richard Sasser and Cal Reese contributed one hit apiece.
Christian Mills endured the pitching loss.
Faith Christian concluded the year 6-8 overall.
