Pitt County Classic: North Lenoir earns split

North Lenoir upended D.H. Conley, 8-7, in eight innings during the Pitt County Classic on Monday afternoon.
Orlando Cannon pitched two shutout innings and earned the win in relief for the Hawks.
Tyler Smith, Landon Letchworth, Jacob Baird, and Luke Jackson each had two hits to lead the offense. Noah Reese, Dacron Gray, Ethan Pittman and Brandon Moore each added a hit apiece.
North Lenoir dropped a 6-5 decision to South Central.
Tyler Smith gave up four runs in four innings and suffered the pitching loss.
Hunter Smith, Tyler Smith, Turner Butler, Orlando Cannon and Drew Burke all had one hit apiece in the second game. Dacron Gray led the team with two hits.
North Lenoir (11-5 overall) faces New Bern today at 6 p.m.
