WCDS boys' tennis wins CPIC opener

Wayne Country Day launched its Coastal Plains Independent 1-A/2-A Conference season with an 8-1 triumph over Epiphany on the Wayne Community College courts Monday afternoon.
Michael Knutson, Sam Dively, Miller Gerrard, Preston Edwards and Hunter Hawkins each earned a straight-set victory in singles.
Knutson-Gerrard, P. Edwards-Hawkins and Holden. Edwards-Hawkins led the Chargers to a sweep in doubles play.
Wayne Country Day (5-1 overall, 1-0 CPIC) plays host to CPIC foe Oakwood today.
