Ayden-Grifton trips up North Lenoir in softball

LITTLEFIELD -- Nicole Robinson and Janna Moore combined for nine strikeouts inside the pitcher's circle, but North Lenoir endured an 8-6 setback to Ayden-Grifton in an Eastern Carolina 2-A Conference game contested Monday.
The Chargers collected nine hits on the night.
Blythe Greene paced the Hawks with two hits and an RBI. Moore (two RBI), Robinson, Kelsie Stocks (two RBI) and Alison Montague provided one hit apiece.
North Lenoir (8-2, 3-2 ECC) faces Farmville Central today.
