Hawks' Letchworth hurls complete game

SNOW HILL -- Landon Letchworth threw a complete game as North Lenoir downed Eastern Carolina 2-A opponent Greene Central 6-4 on Friday evening.
Letchworth allowed four unearned runs in the first inning, but settled down to surrender seven hits and strike out five for the rest of the game.
Letchworth helped his cause with two hits, two runs and an RBI on offense. Brandon Moore and Seth Beard also had two hits apiece.
Noah Reese, Tyler Smith, Jacob Baird, Daron Gray and Ethan Pittman rounded out the 11-hit performance for the Hawks.
North Lenoir (7-3 overall, 2-0 ECC) plays host to county archrival South Lenoir on Tuesday. First pitch is 7 p.m. at Alphin Field.
