North Lenoir trips up Kinston

North Lenoir opened Eastern Carolina 2-A Conference play with a 4-1 victory over county rival Kinston on Tuesday evening.
Tyler Smith worked 5 2/3 innings for the win on the mound. He struck out seven Vikings and gave up a solo home run. Orlando Cannon recorded four strikeouts one-plus innings of relief.
Luke Jackson led the Hawks' offense with three hits and an RBI. Landon Letchworth went 2-4 with a run and RBI.
North Lenoir (6-2 overall, 1-0 ECC) visits C.B. Aycock today.
