Golden Falcons strike early, dismantle Rampants in softball

C.B. Aycock cranked out 13 hits and waltzed past J.H. Rose, 14-3, in Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference play Thursday afternoon.
The Golden Falcons scored eight runs in the first inning.
Cierra Harris had three hits. Madison Walton had two hits and three RBI. Allison Shingleton tripled. Connor Vinson (two RBI), Mackenzie Wheeler, Keeley Fulghum (RBI), Katie Gay (two RBI) and Taylor Waddell also had hits for the Golden Falcons.
Allie Phillips secured the win in the circle. She allowed two hits, walked three and struck out five.
Weather permitting, C.B. Aycock (6-2 overall, 4-1 ECC) plays host to Eastern Wayne today.
