SALEMBURG -- Krystal Yelverton, Alicia Burns and Jordan DuBose collected three hits apiece during Rosewood's 16-1, mercy-rule conquest of Carolina 1-A Conference foe Lakewood on Friday evening.
Hayley Mercer, Hailey Weeks and Callie Thornton each had two hits. Mackenzie Little and Shayla Marak each had one hit.
Weeks surrendered five hits and fanned two Lakewood batters during her three-inning stint inside the circle. Thornton hurled two innings of two-hit, one-strikeout relief.
"Offensively, we did a pretty good job of putting the bat on the ball," third-year RHS head coach Shay Campbell said. "We were able to capitalize on some fielding miscues by Lakewood to gain some extra bases, but the doubles were earned hits."
The Eagles (2-0 overall, 2-0 CC) entertain James Kenan on Monday.
