Saints double up South Central on softball diamond

DUDLEY -- Kelsey Hayes cranked out two doubles and Haley Brodgen emerged as the winning pitcher during Southern Wayne's 6-3 triumph over perennial power South Central on Friday afternoon.
Brogden threw a complete-game seven-hitter and posted 10 strikeouts inside the circle. The right-hander pounded out two hits at the plate.
Haley Warren contributed two hits, including a triple, and two RBI. Claire Kennedy supplied two hits and Keaton Bradley added one hit.
The Saints (2-3 overall) improved to 1-1 in Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference play heading into next Tuesday's game at New Bern.
