WILSON -- University of Mount Olive sophomore Brady Hollenbacher shares fifth place among 44 individual golfers after opening-round play of the Barton College Men's Golf Intercollegiate.
Hollenbacher fired an opening-round 74 for the Trojans, who posted a team score of 306. Tournament host Barton tops the leaderboard with a 294 and third-place Adelphi (N.Y.) trails UMO by two strokes.
Mark O'Hara complemented Hollenbacher with a 12th-place score of 76, while teammate Sebastian Andersen is one shot back at 77. Jesus Valderrama fired a 79, while Jose Ramirez turned in an 82.
Weather permitting, the 36-hole tournament concludes today.
