Trojans double up Saints on softball diamond

FOUR OAKS -- South Johnston plated four runs during the latter stages of the game and handed Southern Wayne an 8-4, non-conference loss Thursday afternoon.
Claire Kennedy paced the Saints' offense with two hits and an RBI. Haley Warren tripled, while Keaton Bradley doubled. Morgan Best and Whitney Houston (RBI) contributed one hit apiece.
Best endured the pitching loss in relief of Warren. The duo combined to allow nine hits.
Southern Wayne (1-2 overall) entertains county rival Charles B. Aycock today.
