McCollum homers twice, SC splits softball twinbill

TEACHEY -- Rachel McCollum connected on a pair of home runs as Spring Creek split a non-conference doubleheader with Wallace-Rose Hill on Wednesday afternoon.
McCollum's inside-the-park round-tripper was part of a three-hit effort in the opener -- a 14-5 triumph by the Gators. Alana Price doubled in a three-hit performance. Sydney Ocker provided a double, while Sarah Ford delivered a triple.
Ashley Marriner had four hits.
The Bulldogs won the nightcap 10-2. McCollum swatted her third home run of the season. Marriner supplied a triple and Price finished the game with two doubles.
Spring Creek (2-1 overall) opens Carolina 1-A Conference play at home Friday against Lakewood.
