Spring Creek slips past Greene Central in baseball

SNOW HILL -- Spring Creek pushed across two sixth-inning runs and turned back Greene Central, 6-5, on the James R. Fulghum Athletic Complex diamond Monday afternoon.
Chad Spurgeon paced the Gators' offense with two hits and an RBI. Logan Miller, Sawyer Smith, Allen Coor (RBI), Will Rouse and Levi Miller provided one hit apiece.
Mason Karkay collected an RBI.
Matt Dupuy earned the mound win in relief of Smith. Dupuy permitted two earned runs on three hits and posted one strikeout in two innings. Hunter Walker notched the save with one inning of one-strikeout relief.
Austin Batchelor led the Rams with two hits and two RBI.
Spring Creek (3-1 overall) is the guest of Wallace-Rose Hill on Wednesday.
