No. 15-ranked Trojans complete series sweep of Limestone

GAFFNEY, S.C. -- Jay Gonzalez and Rob Shipman each homered during the fifth inning, and No. 15-ranked University of Mount Olive claimed a 14-4 win over Conference Carolinas foe Limestone (S.C.) on Monday afternoon.
The Trojans swept the three-game series.
The teams traded one-run leads through the early innings until Gonzalez and Shipman stepped up to the plate in the fifth. Gonzalez stroked a one-out home run over the left-field fence.
Shipman followed with a blast to left-center field.
Limestone closed the gap to 5-4 in the bottom of the fifth, but could get no closer. UMO tallied nine runs over the final four innings to extend its modest win streak to three games.
Bradon Reitano paced the Trojans' offense with four hits and three RBI. Shipman batted 3-for-5 with four RBI. DeAndre Allen provided three hits and three RBI.
Gonzalez finished 3-for-4.
Derek Justice improved to 3-1 on the mound with seven solid innings. He surrendered four runs (three earned) on six hits and retired three Saints on strikeouts.
Talton Cherry and Brody McDonald combined for two innings of no-hit scoreless relief.
