Hunt edges Aycock in 8 innings

WILSON -- Jacob Williamson's game-winning, eighth-inning RBI single lifted Wilson Hunt past Charles B. Aycock, 3-2, on Wednesday afternoon.
The base knock occurred with one out.
The Golden Falcons owned a 9-2 edge in total hits, but surrendered three runs (one earned) on two hits and five walks. Bobby Hampton started on the bump and tossed four innings of seven-strikeout, no-hit ball.
Tim Naughton provided three innings of one-hit, five-strikeout relief. Sophomore Kyle Davis suffered the hard-luck defeat.
Garrett Joyner paced Aycock's offense with three hits and scored two runs. Noah West batted 2-for-4 with two RBI.
The Golden Falcons (2-1 overall) visit North Lenoir on Friday.
