Golden Falcons soar past Eagles

Tim Naughton emerged the winning pitcher during Charles B. Aycock's 10-0, mercy-rule conquest of county foe Rosewood.
Naughton permitted one hit and logged five strikeouts during a three-inning stretch. Ben Rouse and Kyle Davis combined for two innings of one-hit, four-strikeout relief.
Trent Herndon doubled twice and drove in two runs for the Golden Falcons, who picked up their second win in a three-day period. Naughton, Noah West (RBI) and freshman Ashton McGee (RBI) cranked out two hits apiece.
Rouse (two RBI) and Jacob Naughton (RBI) each had one hit. Conner Crandall connected on an RBI groundout.
Senior right-hander Reed Howell batted 2-for-3 and absorbed the mound loss for the Eagles. He surrendered four earned runs on seven hits and recorded five strikeouts in four innings.
Aycock (2-0 overall) travels to Wilson Hunt next Wednesday.
