WCDS boys advance to CPIC semifinals

Joel Davis recorded a triple-double during Wayne Country Day's opening-round, 86-36 romp over Pope John Paul II in the Coastal Plains Independent 1-A/2-A Conference tournament Monday evening.
The third-seeded Chargers (22-10 overall) entertain second-seeded Freedom Christian on Friday. Tip off is 7:30 p.m.
Davis scored 11 points, pulled down 10 rebounds and dished out 10 assists. Shahim Muhammed logged a game-high 22 points, while Jamal Forde added 17.
