Grayson Collins emerged victorious in two events and the Goldsboro boys captured the 1,600-meter relay during the season-ending, Eastern Carolina 2-A Conference indoor track and field championship meet.
A distance runner, Collins claimed the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs. Nekooshia Kornegay finished first in the 300-meter dash. Teammates Josephine Grant and Shamonica Artis seized ECC titles in the 55-meter dash and shot put, respectively.
The foursome of Christian Martens, Keyshawn Jenkins, James Clyde and Rasheid Malette comprised the Cougars' winning relay squad. Martens also won the 500-meter dash.
Malette, Martens, Clyde and Queshawn Bowden return to action Feb. 8 in the N.C. High School Athletic Association 1-A/2-A championship meet at JDL Fast Track on the Winston-Salem State University campus.
