EW girls rebound from league defeat

NEW BERN -- Eastern Wayne built a double-digit lead by halftime and rolled to a 53-29 win over Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference foe New Bern on Monday evening.
Jasmine Covington led the Warriors with 13 points and four assists. Elondia Grant contributed eight points and Tianna Christopher had seven points and six assists.
Weather permitting, Eastern Wayne (9-4 overall, 6-2 ECC) plays host to Kinston on Thursday.
