Chargers, Eagles compete in swim meet

Senior Robert Glass recorded a pair of top-11 finishes in individual action and helped Wayne Country Day place third in the 200-yard freestyle relay during a multi-team meet contested at B.G. Darden Natatorium on Monday evening.
Glass touched the wall ninth in the 100 free in 1 minute, 6.66 seconds. He claimed 11th in the 50 free with a time of 29.1, and swam the opening leg of the Chargers' relay, which logged a time of 1:58.63. Glass was joined by Charlie Dees, Daniel Covert and Zan Pittman.
Pittman emerged victorious in the 500 free with a meet-best time of 5:37.61. The eighth-grader wound up fourth in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:12.74.
Daniel Covert finished 16th in the 50 free and 14th in the 100 free. Dees captured 22nd in the 50 free and 19th in the 100 free.
Wayne Christian's Avery Best placed 10th in the 100 back.
On the girls' side, the Chargers' Allison Bailey and Kennedy Dalton secured sixth and seventh, respectively, in the 100 free. Bailey grabbed fourth in the 50 free, while Dalton was eighth.
Katy Fletcher and Laurel Hinson were 14th and 15th, respectively, in the 100 free.
The Eagles' Gabi Holtzkam took 18th in the 100 free, while teammate Anna Rendall was third in the 100 backstroke. Whitley Herring took fifth in the 100 breaststroke.
Wayne Christian wound up third in the 400 free relay.
