Middle schools

* Girls' basketball: Wayne Christian 40, Cape Fear Christian 16 -- Kasey Norris led the Eagles with 23 points. Ashley Harrelson contributed eight points and Abby Harrelson had five.

* Girls' basketball: Norwayne 40, Eastern Wayne 22 -- Hannah Vinson led Norwayne with 17 points. Jala Holloman added 13 points and Hannah Carter had six points. Norwayne (4-0 overall) plays host to Spring Creek on Monday.

* Boys' basketball: Grantham 48, Mount Olive 24 -- Grantham's Emmanuel Walker finished with 16 points. DeAndre Wright and Jamal King each added 12 points.

* Boys' basketball: Rosewood 42, Greenwood 34 -- Chance Howard paced the Eagles with 23 points. Will Newsome scored 11 points for Greenwood.
