PIKEVILLE -- Charles B. Aycock practiced in anticipation of seeing a full Rosewood squad on Friday evening.

The Golden Falcons took advantage of the Eagles' missing pieces instead.

Michael Williams emerged the lone scorer in double figures with 12 points during Aycock's 47-21, non-conference victory and regular-season sweep of its county foe.

"What they played against us the last time and what we've seen in scouting, we worked on how we would defend those actions," first-year CBA head coach Tod Morgan said. "I thought we were solid at what we were doing tonight (and) obviously, they were missing a few good players."

Rosewood played without starters Marquail Al-montaser (hamstring), Jon Hair (stress fracture) and Dennis Mitchell (hand). Hair isn't expected to return until early January.

The trio's absence created matchup problems.

So did Aycock's defense -- without Williams on the floor at times. The Golden Falcons picked the Eagles for six steals, which led to either transition opportunities or trips to the free throw line.

Williams tallied just four first-quarter points, but dished out assists to Bryce Jordan and Tyrique Ford on open-court layups. Trae Woodard contributed three free throws as Aycock turned a 5-4 deficit into a 16-6 lead after one period.

"Any time any team is missing three of their starters, it's going to affect them especially with the youth that we have (and) the inexperience that we have," RHS head coach Daniel Mitchell said. "They put a lot of pressure on the ball and took us out of some things offensively. We had a hard time getting into an offense."

The Golden Falcons' lead continued to swell in the second quarter as the Eagles (0-6 overall) failed to convert offensive possessions. Rosewood connected on just two field goals -- a 3-pointer by Mike Woodard and layup by Bryan Smith -- during the opening half.

The Eagles hit just seven field goals for the game.

Morgan and Mitchell each played their reserves for a majority of the second half. The bench supplied 21 points including five each from freshman Chandler Matthews, Ford and Woodard.

Starter Neil Clark added six points.

Woodard and Ethan Chappin paced Rosewood's offense with six and five points, respectively.

Rosewood will host Hobbton on Tuesday. The same night C.B. Aycock will be the guest of New Bern.
