Eight area teams make state football playoffs

Eastern Wayne and Charles B. Aycock both made the Class 3-A playoffs. The third-seeded Warriors play host to 14th seed West Carteret. The 15th-seeded Golden Falcons visit No. 2 seed Western Alamance.
Greene Central earned an 11th seed in the 2-AA playoffs. The Rams travel to No. 6 seed Bunn.
James Kenan, Princeton, Rosewood and Spring Creek each garned a spot in the Class 1-AA playoffs.
The No. 1 seeded Tigers play host to No. 8 seed Union.
The Bulldogs received a No. 4 seed and play host to No. 5 seed Granville Central. The Eagles are a seventh seed and travel to No. 2 seed Whiteville. The Gators are a No. 8 seed and visit No. 1 seed Tarboro.
North Duplin is a No. 5 seed in the Class 1-A playoffs. The Rebels travel to fourth-seeded Weldon.
All games kickoff at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
