Goldsboro pulls out 5-set thriller at home

Goldsboro celebrated its senior night with a 27-25, 12-25, 19-25, 25-16, 15-5 win over Eastern Carolina 2-A Conference win over Greene Central on Tuesday evening.
Nickie Tyler, Amena Williams and Ebony Kornegay played their final game in a Cougars' uniform. Williams tallied six kills and two aces. Kornegay delivered eight key service points during the decisive fifth set. Alexus Davis supplied 12 kills, three aces and three blocks.
Matti Rose Lyon handed out 18 assists to go with four aces. Becka Pittard added six aces, five kills and two blocks.
Goldsboro finished with 20 aces as a team.
The Cougars concluded the year 5-15 overall and 3-7 in ECC play.
