Lakewood cruises past North Duplin

CALYPSO -- Lakewood built a two-touchdown advantage and cruised past North Duplin, 33-7, in a Carolina 1-A Conference game contested at H.E. Grubbs Field on Friday evening.
Cedric Kornegay's interception return set up the Rebels' lone touchdown in the third quarter. Blake Rhodes rambled in from 20 yards out and Jaimes added the PAT.
Emiliano Mora paced North Duplin's ground attack with 63 yards on eight carries. JP Payton added 46 yards on 16 totes.
The Rebels had 150 yards of total offense and did not attempt a pass.
Lakewood leads the all-time series 12-10.
North Duplin (2-4 overall, 0-1 CC) travels to No. 1-ranked and unbeaten James Kenan next Friday.
