NEW BERN -- Records fell for New Bern in its first game as a member of the Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference on Friday night.
The Bears put up new marks for total points in a single game and points in a quarter in a 72-7 rout.
Neil Clark scored the Golden Falcons' lone touchdown midway through the first quarter, but that is all that went right for the visitors. A pair of early turnovers and subsequent big plays gave the Bears a 42-7 lead after just 12 minutes.
T.J. Morrow emerged as the Golden Falcons' leading rusher with 76 yards on 12 carries. Morrow completed four passes for 23 yards. Michael Eutsey caught two balls for 10 yards.
C.B. Aycock (3-3 overall, 0-1 ECC) entertains Southern Wayne next week.
