Greene Central secured the inaugural Eastern Carolina 2-A Conference championship with a 9-0 victory over Goldsboro.
The Rams wrapped up an unprecedented 20th consecutive league championship, a streak that started in 1994.
Five singles players -- Lindsey May, MacKenzie Butts, Brycen Radford, Caitlin Deans and Morgan Britt -- each posted a straight-set shutout. Teammate Taylar Keel dropped one game to the Cougars' Sydney Cox at No. 1 singles.
Keel-Radford, Deans-May and Butts-Britt swept the doubles for the Rams.
"We played well in singles," GC head coach Donald Clark said. "Goldsboro played well in doubles (and) has a very scrappy team."
Greene Central (17-3 overall, 7-0 ECC) faces Edenton Holmes on Monday.
