Rosewood boys, Princeton girls prevail in Carolina XC meet

MOUNT OLIVE-- Rosewood won the boys' portion and Princeton claimed the girls' half of a Carolina 1-A Conference meet at Mount Olive College on Tuesday afternoon.
The Eagles' boys tallied 37 points, while runner-up Spring Creek collected 57 points. Princeton (70), Hobbton (85) and North Duplin (104) rounded out the team scoring.
Spring Creek's Alan Coor was the top male runner with a time of 18 minutes, 19 seconds. Teammate Gage Abbott finished second in 18:25.
The Bulldogs' Matthew Edwards (18:59) and Hunter Mitchell (20:05) were third and sixth, respectively.
Rosewood's Dalton Farmer (19:01) and Dylan Cuddington finished fourth and seventh, respectively.
Alex Palacio (21:51) was North Duplin's top male runner with a 15th-place finish.
Princeton compiled a team score of 37 on the girls' side. The Eagles were second with 55 points. Hobbton (65) and North Duplin (67) rounded out the team scoring. Spring Creek did not record a team score.
Neuse Charter's Sarah Stephenson won the girls' race in 22:26. Rosewood's Ashley Duran finished second with a time of 23:19. The Bulldogs' Amber Johnson (23:20) and Altheia Balagalo (24:08) were fourth and sixth, respectively.
The Rebels' Genesis Orellana and Haley Thurston (24:05) and (24:21) finished in fifth and seventh place, respectively.
