Defending NCISAA 1A dual-team champ too much for WCDS

WILSON -- Defending N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association 1-A dual-team champion Statesville Christian defeated Wayne Country Day 9-0 on opening day of the Alice Cobb Memorial at Barton College.
"We didn't fare very well," Chargers head coach Joann Logan said. "They are very deep. The girls played well, but were up against a stronger team. (It was) great to play that kind of tennis."
The No. 2 doubles of Ally Willman-Jennifer Potts lost 9-7.
The Chargers played Elon School on Saturday.
