Reigning Carolina 1A soccer champs escape Lakewood

SEVEN SPRINGS -- Gio Avila handed out three assists and Spring Creek opened defense of its Carolina 1-A Conference championship with a 7-4 triumph over Lakewood at "The Swamp" on Wednesday afternoon.
Otto Binar and Ivan Lemus (one assist) each scored twice for the Gators, who let a three-goal lead slip away. Avila (goal.), David Vega (goal, assist) and Brayan Lopez (goal) capped Spring Creek's offense.
The Gators (3-0-1 overall, 1-0-0 CC) travel to Hobbton on Monday.
