Brandon Price belted a walk-off, two-run home run and Wayne rallied past Wilson Christian 3-2 in the Eastern Carolina Baseball League opener for both teams on Monday evening.
Hunter Burt added the only other hit for Wayne.
Holden Foster pitched three innings of four-strikeout relief to earn the win on the pitcher's mound. Ted Suggs threw the first three innings.
"We worked in and out of trouble all night, but when they had to make the pitch, they did it," Wayne head coach Michael Taylor said. "Brandon came up in the bottom of the seventh inning and hit a big home run. That was the difference in the game."
Wayne (1-0 overall) plays host to Aycock White tonight at 5 p.m.
