Dogs shut out Gators on softball diamond

PRINCETON -- Princeton earned a share of the Carolina 1-A Conference championship with a 13-0, mercy-rule triumph over Spring Creek on Wednesday evening.
Kelsey Peedin (two RBI) and Savanna Massengill (two RBI) cranked out two hits apiece for the Bulldogs, who improved to 9-0 against league opposition this season.
Tori Paul and Kasey Johnson combined for a three-hitter inside the pitcher's circle. Paul recorded seven strikeouts.
Rachel McCollum took the mound loss for the Gators.
Princeton concludes regular-season play Friday at archrival Rosewood.
