Rams' Brann tosses 1-hit shutout

SNOW HILL -- Ben Brann pitched a one-hit shutout and Greene Central handed North Pitt its first loss, 8-0, in Eastern Plains 2-A Conference play Tuesday evening.
Brann tallied three strikeouts and allowed three walks. The senior improved to 8-0 on the mound, and recorded his fifth shutout and fifth complete game of the season. Brann has surrendered just five runs in 52 2/3 innings of work on the year.
Chad Murphy collected two hits and four RBI four the Rams and belted a three-run home run in the bottom of the first inning. Kevin Ormond also supplied two hits. James Head added a hit and two RBI.
Greene Central (13-7 overall, 10-2 EPC) travels to North Lenoir on Friday for a non-conference game.
