Rosewood cruises past Goldsboro in baseball

Rosewood moved into a three-way tie for first place in the Carolina 1-A Conference with a 14-3 win in six innings over Goldsboro on Tuesday night.
The Eagles share the top spot with Ayden-Grifton and North Duplin.
Jonathan Cherry led the Eagles with three hits and an RBI. Reed Howell (three RBI) and Jordan Gurley both contributed two hits.
Brent Breedlove (four RBI), Kahlil Warren (RBI), Jacob DuBose (RBI), Jordan Lynn (RBI), Hayden Amodeo (RBI) and Will Lane each had a hit.
Breedlove pitched a complete game and surrendered three runs (two earned) on five hits with nine strikeouts and three walks to record the win.
Isaiah Core paced Goldsboro with two hits and an RBI. Jamal Moses, Zach Falconer and Cayce Herring each collected a hit. Jared Howard and Ronald Wood both provided an RBI.
Rosewood (6-12 overall, 5-2 CC) entertains Spring Creek on Thursday. Goldsboro (2-17, 0-7) plays host to Princeton on Friday.
