Saints edge New Bern, 3-2

NEW BERN -- Southern Wayne got a complete-game effort from Jacob Sasser on the pitcher's mound and held off New Bern 3-2 on Wednesday.
Sasser allowed one earned run and struck out five batters in the win.
Kevin Williams led the Saints at the plate with two hits and one RBI. Clayton Cashwell and Garrad Whitfield each added one hit and one RBI.
Southern Wayne (8-4 overall) faces Northern Nash in the 2013 Pitt County Classic on Saturday.
