Chargers pound Neuse Charter

Wayne Country Day scored early and often in a 14-2, non-conference win over Neuse Charter on Friday afternoon.
Cody Neal led the Chargers with two hits and two RBI. Jacob Sparks, Thomas Kierski, Mitch Turnage, John Strickland and Luke Bryan each added a hit in the win.
Turnage got the win on the pitcher's mound.
Wayne Country Day (2-4 overall) opens Coastal Plains Independent 1-A Conference play at Epiphany on Tuesday.
