Trinity Academy of Raleigh scored in the final three minutes of regulation and upended Wayne Christian, 1-0, on the Carolina Christian 1-A Conference scene Tuesday afternoon.
"Kelsey Kornegay played an awesome game in goal," WCS assistant coach Shelly Anderson said. "Our defense was outstanding. The midfielders and strikers worked hard to score, but couldn't get a break. For the first game, they did extremely well."
It was the Eagles' season-opening match.
Wayne Christian (0-1-0 overall) entertains CCC foe Northwood on Friday.
