MOC men's volleyball team sweeps Coker

HARTSVILLE, S.C. -- Angel Dache provided 11 kills and the Mount Olive College men's volleyball team remained undefeated in Conference Carolinas play with a 25-12, 25-18, 25-21 triumph over Coker (S.C.) College on Wednesday evening.
The Trojans served nine aces in the three-set sweep.
Dache logged five digs defensively. Alex Rivero contributed six kills and Adam Miracle supplied five kills. Quaid Marin dished out 27 assists.
Mount Olive (8-3 overall, 7-0 CC) never trailed in the opening set.
Luke Hansen's kill pulled the Cobras to within 19-18 in the second set, but the Trojans responded with a 6-0 run. Two blocks by Marin and two aces by Rivero closed out the set.
Dache and Miracle connected on consecutive kills and Coker committed two attack errors early in the third set. The Cobras trimmed the deficit to three points on numerous occasions, but could get no closer.
MOC travels to Erskine (S.C.) College on Saturday. First serve is 2 p.m.
