RED OAK -- Charles B. Aycock continued its season-long dominance over Big East 3-A teams and battled a future Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A foe during a three-team wrestling meet contested at Northern Nash.
The Golden Falcons (25-5 overall) cranked out a 45-33 decision over the host Knights and remained perfect in five outings against Big East competition this winter.
New Bern, which will join the ECC next fall, squeezed out a 36-30 victory.
Aycock prevailed in 12 of 17 contested individual bouts during the dual-meet affair. Blake Davis, Zack Howard, Jordan Bailey, Daniel Romo and Khaleil Owens each logged a 2-0 worksheet. Romo edged New Bern's John Sherman 4-2 in overtime at 132 pounds.
Jacob Dickenson, Charlie Mills, Broc Doyle, Landon Moore and heavyweight Matt Teachey also emerged victorious against either the Knights or the Bears.
