Bethel Christian had just four players score against Faith Christian on Tuesday night.

The quartet did enough to earn a 57-46 victory over the Conquerors in N.C. Christian Schools Athletic Association play.

"We had a couple of stretches there where we just could not make a shot," Faith Christian head coach Jeff Stocks said. "I was pleased with how we played overall tonight and I told the boys that, but we have to work on getting better shots within our offense."

The teams battled through a back-and-fourth first quarter and neither squad gained any momentum.

That changed early in the second period when Bethel used a 9-0 run to grab a 19-10 lead. Faith Christian guard Aaron Hill answered with a quick basket and Richard Sasser followed with a 3-point shot.

The Trojans led 27-19 at the intermission, but found themselves in a battle as Hill led the Conquerors back. A 7-0 Faith Christian run early in the third quarter cut the deficit to one point and a driving layup by Hill put the Conquerors ahead 34-33 midway through the period.

"Aaron is our senior leader and he is the catalyst for our offense," Stocks said. "I have been trying to get him to take more shots, but he is such a good passer and willing to find open teammates that sometimes he passes up good shots."

Davon Edwards' driving layup gave the Trojans a 37-36 lead they'd never relinquish the rest of the game.

Edwards led the Bethel Christian offense with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Connor Rivero added 15 points and Jordan Stallings tallied 14 points.

Hill paced Faith Christian with 19 points and seven assists. Richard Sasser added 15 points in the defeat. Christian Mills contributed five points and seven rebounds.

Faith Christian (8-7 overall) plays host to Tabernacle Christian from Monroe on Friday night.
