Preps digest: JV roundup

JV sports

* Boys' basketball: Eastern Wayne 52, C.B. Aycock 37 -- Jeremiah Miller led the Warriors with 13 points, four rebounds and three steals. Malik Martin provided 10 points and eight rebounds. Darren Applewhite finished with nine points. Dameko Artis had six points and 10 rebounds. Eastern Wayne (10-3, 2-1 Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference) visits Triton on Monday.

* Boys' basketball: Wayne Country Day 62, Harrells Christian 38 -- Tony Townsend and Jason Jones each finished with 16 points for the Chargers. Preston Edwards added 11 points. Tyrique McClain had eight points. Wayne Country Day (4-2 overall) entertains Freedom Christian on Jan. 11.

* Girls' basketball: C.B. Aycock 30, Eastern Wayne 19 -- The Golden Falcons' Madison Wildman scored nine points and pulled down 10 rebounds and handed out five assists. Emily Patnaude contributed six points and 10 rebounds. Alexus Bynum had six points and eight rebounds. Aycock (6-4, 3-0 ECC) travels to Southern Wayne on Jan. 16.
