Middle schools
* Girls' basketball: Norwayne 39, Dillard 11 -- Tanika Powell led the unbeaten Cobras with 12 points. Teammates Hannah Vinson and Cassandra Lassiter chipped in eight and six points, respectively. Towanna Jones emerged Dillard's top scorer with five points. Norwayne (9-0 overall) is the guest of Greenwood on Thursday.
* Girls' basketball: Cape Fear Christian 28, Wayne Christian 17 -- Kasey Norris paced the Eagles' offense with 11 points.
* Boys' basketball: Wayne Christian 33, Cape Fear Christian 27 -- Nathan Clark tallied a game-high 17 points for Wayne Christian, which improved to 3-6 overall this season. The Eagles travel to Neuse Charter on Jan. 14.
