* Boys' basketball: Eastern Wayne 60, Ayden-Grifton 47 -- Jaylin Thomas led the Eastern Wayne attack with 17 points. Zeke Martin added 10 points and seven rebounds for the Warriors. Eastern Wayne (5-2 overall) plays host to Goldsboro tonight.
Middle schools
* Girls' basketball: Norwayne 33, Spring Creek 15 -- Tanika Powell led the Norwayne offense with 19 points. Alanna Price finished with four points to lead Spring Creek. Norwayne (5-0 overall) travels to Eastern Wayne on Monday.
* Girls' basketball: Wayne Christian 27, Lee Christian 3 -- Jennifer Potter paced Wayne Christian with nine points. Kasey Norris added eight points in the win. Wayne Christian improved to 7-0 overall. The Eagles will play host to Faith Christian of Rocky Mount on Jan. 5, 2013.
* Boys' basketball: Wayne Christian 23, Lee Christian 21 -- Chase King and Nathan Clark each finished with eight points for the Eagles. Wayne Christian improved to 2-5 overall.
