* Girls' basketball: Goldsboro 42, Southern Nash 29 -- Joniere Simmons led the Cougars with 10 points. Deja Moore, Marlhia Gardner and La'shiya Lofton each added eight points in the win. Goldsboro improved to 4-1 overall.
* Boys' basketball: Goldsboro 47, Southern Nash 42 -- Eric Bufkin paced the Goldsboro offense with 17 points. Daktavius Wheeler added 12 points in the win. Goldsboro visits Eastern Wayne on Friday night.
* Boys' basketball: C.B. Aycock 57, Greene Central 53 -- T.J. Morrow scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Golden Falcons. Bryce Jordan provided 11 points. Ian Best had eight points and eight assists. Aycock (7-3) plays host to Cleveland on Tuesday.
