Perennial power Lakewood tops SW girls

SALEMBURG -- Dikeya Cox logged a double-double in Southern Wayne's 54-45, non-conference loss to perennial Class 1-A powerhouse Lakewood on Thursday evening.
Cox notched 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Saints, who were handed their second loss of the season. Teammate Keajah Wilson chipped in 10 points.
Lakewood advanced to the N.C. High School Athletic Association 1-A eastern regional championship game last season.
Southern Wayne (1-2 overall) visits Jones Senior today.
