Burton paces Eagles; Heflin lone Bulldog in 1-A/2-A state golf meet

FOXFIRE VILLAGE -- Rosewood's Lindsey Burton is tied for 25th overall after first-round play in the NCHSAA 1-A/2-A women's golf championships.
Burton carded an 18-hole round of 95, while teammate Taylor Gales fired a 102 on the West Course at the Foxfire Resort and Golf Club.
Princeton's Lacynn Heflin shares 26th place at 96.
The 36-hole event concluded today.
