Eastern Wayne carves out ECC win over Saints

Eastern Wayne turned back Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference foe Southern Wayne 8-1 on Tuesday afternoon in New Hope.
Savannah Sutton, Faith Sutton, Grace Delbridge, Blake Govan and Cameron Dove combined to sweep the singles matches. The tandems of Delbridge-Govan and Brittney Brinson-Debbie Mitchell also prevailed.
The Saints' Cierra Moody-Morgan Best won at No. 3 doubles.
Eastern Wayne (11-1 overall, 9-0 ECC) visits Charles B. Aycock on Thursday, while Southern Wayne (7-8, 4-5) plays host to South Johnston.
