Rosewood tennis falls to Ayden-Grifton

LITTLEFIELD -- Deziree Baker claimed Rosewood's lone point in a 6-1 loss to Ayden-Grifton in a Carolina 1-A Conference match Thursday afternoon.
The Chargers (3-4 overall, 1-1 CC) prevailed on five singles courts and claimed a marathon third-set tiebreaker at No. 2. Arianna Savoie outlasted the Eagles' Abigail Godwin 5-7, 6-1, 14-12.
Rosewood (0-2, 0-2) travels to league-leading North Duplin next Tuesday, while Ayden-Grifton is the guest of Goldsboro on Sept. 13.
